1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Liberty Duct and Vent, LLC ("Liberty Duct," "we," "us," "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you visit libertyductvent.com or request our services.
We comply with the Utah Consumer Privacy Act (UCPA) for Utah residents and applicable US state privacy laws. By using our website or services, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the minimum information needed to provide service. This includes:
- Information you provide when requesting a quote or booking: full name, phone number, email address, service address, ZIP code, property type, service requested, and any details you share in the message field.
- Information collected automatically when you browse: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, time spent on each page (via Cloudflare Pages access logs and analytics).
- Information from communications: when you call, text, or email us, we keep a record of that contact and its content.
- On-site service information: photographs of HVAC components, written reports, before/after documentation, and notes captured during service.
We do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, government IDs, financial-account passwords, biometric data, or sensitive personal information beyond what is needed to deliver service.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Respond to quote requests and schedule service.
- Communicate about appointments, follow-ups, and warranty work.
- Send service reminders for annual maintenance items.
- Improve our website and services.
- Comply with legal obligations and protect against fraud or misuse.
- Issue invoices, process payments, and document warranty claims.
We do not use your information for advertising profiling or sell it to data brokers.
6. Data Security
We use HTTPS/TLS for all site traffic, restrict access to customer records to authorized personnel, and follow industry-standard practices to protect against unauthorized access. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; in the event of a breach affecting Utah residents, we will follow UCPA notification requirements.
7. Data Retention
We retain customer service records for as long as needed to:
- Honor warranty and satisfaction-guarantee terms (typically 12 months past last service).
- Meet tax, accounting, and legal record-keeping obligations (Utah law and IRS guidelines: typically 7 years).
- Resolve disputes and enforce agreements.
Quote requests not converted to service are retained for up to 24 months unless you request earlier deletion.
8. Your Rights — Utah Residents (UCPA)
Under the Utah Consumer Privacy Act, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Delete personal information we have collected from you.
- Receive a copy in a portable format.
- Opt out of the sale of personal information or targeted advertising. (We do neither — but we honor the request.)
To exercise any of these rights, email libertyduct.utah@gmail.com with the subject "Privacy Request." We respond within 45 days as required by UCPA. We will verify your identity before fulfilling the request.
You will not be charged a fee, denied service, or treated differently for exercising your rights.
9. Your Rights — Other US Residents
If you reside in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, or another state with comprehensive privacy law, you have rights similar to those described above (access, deletion, portability, opt-out of sale/sharing). Use the same email contact to exercise them; we apply the strictest applicable standard regardless of your state.
10. Children's Privacy
Our services are intended for adults (18+) responsible for residential or commercial property. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we delete it promptly.
11. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Liberty Duct does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If this changes in the future, this section will be updated and you will be given a clear opt-out method as required by applicable law.
12. Third-Party Services
This site links to third-party sites (Google Maps, Wikipedia, social media). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Liberty Duct is not responsible for content or privacy practices of third-party sites.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes will be communicated via email to recent customers and posted prominently on the site for 30 days.
